About Our Wedding Ties & Accessories
When choosing a tie for your wedding, you can go one of 3 ways. You can either match the ties to the bridesmaid dress color exactly (for example, a terracotta tie for groomsmen, and terracotta dresses for the bridesmaids). The second option is to choose a neutral shade for the ties, like taupe, neutral champagne, navy, or black. We suggest lighter neutral shades against lighter family colors or pastels for bridesmaid dresses (for example, neutral champagne ties with pale blush bridesmaid dresses), or darker neutral ties with moody, jewel toned dresses (for example, black bow ties with emerald green bridesmaid dresses). Lastly, you can go for a tone-on-tone look and stick to a family of color. For example, you can opt for navy bow ties for the groomsmen, and twilight bridesmaid dresses for the bridal party.
Choosing between a necktie and a bow tie comes down to the formality of your wedding and the overall look you want to achieve. Bow ties are perfect for more formal, black-tie weddings and tuxedos, offering a classic, sophisticated style. They also work well if you're aiming for a vintage vibe. On the other hand, neckties are more versatile and can be worn with almost any suit, from casual to formal, making them a great choice for a wide range of wedding styles
For a cohesive look, it's best to stick to one style for everyone. That said, we've seen weddings where the groom wears a bow tie and the groomsmen wear neckties, or where only the groom and best man wear bow ties while the rest go for neckties. As long as there’s a clear reason behind the decision, it can definitely work.
